The history of this honey dates back to 2013, when the organization helping homeless people, Accueil Bonneau, decided to set up an urban beekeeping program. This program allowed the organization's apprentice beekeepers to work in a pleasant environment while learning a trade and helping to preserve bees.

Miel Bonneau is a real Quebec pride, because it is produced locally and sold exclusively in Quebec. The profits from its sale are directly reinvested in Accueil Bonneau's homeless assistance programs.
