Cluster cherries, small red balls the size of a pea, stand out nicely against the green foliage along country roads and are easy to pick since they are generally very abundant.
Eaten raw, they are slightly bitter and leave the mouth mushy and the tongue black, to the delight of children. Who doesn't remember eating it in the past, with a little salt? Cooked and slightly sweetened, the cluster cherries reveal themselves very sweetly and make an exceptional jelly.
