Our Cabanes, the history of maple at your table

NOS CABANES, L’HISTOIRE DE L’ÉRABLE À VOTRE TABLE

Maple syrup is unquestionably one of the greatest riches of our beautiful Quebec. Quebec, which we also see as the land of sugar water and where there are many maple groves. Maple syrup delights our taste buds and accompanies us deliciously in the kitchen. Every year, we look forward to sugaring-off time to visit the sugar shacks and taste maple syrup and its derivatives. Our Cabanes arrived on the market in 2016 to reveal to us even more the tastes and flavors of all these syrups that exist.

HIGHLIGHTING THE WEALTH OF OUR REGIONS

Our Cabanes bottles maple syrup from various local producers to bring them to our kitchens. But more than just bottling, it is very important for them to highlight the uniqueness of each syrup. The purpose of the company is to reveal its richness to us. To transmit to us the story specific to each one. As Claudie, the founder, says, “my job is not just to bottle a syrup, it is above all and above all to bottle a story”.

The packaging was chosen to enhance an already high-quality product: pretty glass bottles. They are recyclable and reusable and easily find their place in our cupboards. It is in this elegant dressing that the syrup invites itself to our tables for Sunday brunches or other meals with family and friends. N os Cabanes offers us maple syrup that comes from several maple groves, each with its own character, including an ecological maple grove in Mirabel. To this end, Claudie believes that it is also important to offer organic syrups, because the clientele is present.

DIFFERENT FLAVORS

You might think that maple syrup tastes the same everywhere. And yet, each syrup comes with its own story, its own territory and therefore, naturally, its specific taste. Each producer transmits them in his syrup production. This is what Nos Cabanes wants to put forward and make people discover: the different flavors of maple syrups. So that consumers can discover their favorite taste tag.

"As we set out to discover our maple groves, we realized that there is not one, but many thousands of maple syrups in Quebec". According to them, we are far from having exploited maple syrup to its full potential and there is still so much to do to discover this beautiful product. Maple syrup is much more than a sweet sugar water that delights our taste buds and wonderfully accompanies our dishes and desserts.

The syrup from our regions is full of stories and traditions. And Nos Cabanes does not want to lose any of this history which is an integral part of the bottling process. "We want to celebrate their origins and their differences."

CLAUDIE BRASSARD: THE ENTREPRENEUR BEHIND OUR CABINS

After years spent working in large marketing companies, Claudie aspires to something else. She feels that she has this desire to undertake and she really wants to develop it. She wants to be able to combine her passion for design and packaging with a new project of her own. She wants above all to find a good product that she would highlight in a beautiful packaging.

It was during a snowshoe hike near a lake that she had a revelation about maple syrup. Syrup that she loves, so the idea suddenly seems like a no-brainer. She wants to “celebrate this authentic source of pride”. With Nos Cabanes, she was able to bring a modern accent to maple syrup while preserving its entire history: the alchemy works wonderfully!

Claudie is also one of the co-founders of the Markina boutique grocery store with three other women, a restaurant-boutique project where everything is homemade with products from local artisans. Claudie has clearly discovered a passion for food and a desire to encourage local artisans while connecting with them.

Our Cabanes therefore intends to continue its efforts to introduce and taste the good flavors of maple syrup in Quebec and across the Atlantic. The next step: pursue partnerships in Ontario and Western Canada as well as internationally.
