Our favorite Quebec brands are just starting to release their new summer collections and it makes us want to swap the winter wardrobe for light pieces with floral motifs. Although we will have to be patient for a little longer, mother nature refusing to let winter rest, nothing prevents us from starting to identify the new pieces that we will let enter our wardrobe this summer.
Here are the local fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2018:
Essentials for a trendy wardrobe:
-
pastel colors
My biggest summer indulgence is undoubtedly gelato. I love its delectable taste, but what literally melts me are the color variations worthy of the most beautiful Instagram feeds .
If you're like me, you'll also want to devour all the colorful creations from Meemoza 's new collection (available at the Signé Local store!). We particularly love the Daphné shirt (also offered in a pink flamingo print… OMG!) and the essential and timeless Daisy skirt in blue Tencel .
-
“Paper-bag”-inspired pants
My new obsession of the moment: the “paper-bag” pants. Often high-waisted, these pants allow you to accentuate the waist and can be worn with pumps for a more chic look, as well as with sneakers for more casual outings. Light and versatile, no need to tell me more, I buy!
My favorite goes to the Belgian linen model from Gaia & Dubos which has an adjustable flared or puffy silhouette.
Maillagogo 's Sauge pants , meanwhile, will quickly become a must-have in your wardrobe and are likely to accompany you on many of your adventures.
-
Floral prints
A timeless classic, floral prints will always have their place in our wardrobe. They can be worn on tops, blouses, dresses and jackets as well as on shorts or skirts. Summer or winter, floral patterns can embody different styles. Sometimes romantic and bohemian, they can also have a more rock style.
This is the case with the Brahma jacket by Métamorphose and the shorts from the Intervalle collection by Ève Lavoie .
-
The delicate stripes
We can already find them everywhere in the shops, stripes are once again popular this season. Whether vertical to lengthen the silhouette or horizontal; in abundance like on the reversible Horizon dress by Cherry Bobin or all in discretion like in this schoolgirl-inspired look byRobert Atelier , they will be our ally of choice, whatever the occasion.
-
Chic sportswear
Sportswear having been a staple in our wardrobes for a few seasons now, it is no exception this summer. Sporty details added to elegant and feminine silhouettes, even sophisticated, will allow you to wear the look as much at work as during your 5 @ 7 on a terrace.
The ideal piece to recreate this chic sportswear look? Alex and Marie 's Burano pants . Bold and colorful, it goes just as well with a white blouse for more discretion as with the Tellaro shirt and the Olbia sweater for an assumed look.
For a more casual look, opt for Mas Montreal 's black cropped crewneck , a top that goes just as well with sports pants as with high-waisted jeans.
We also like to decorate our look with the magnificent hats of Camille Côté and the bows with fun and summery prints from Le Nœud .
