Jeanne Beaudry: uniting yoga and the visual arts

The interview flows easily, the new entrepreneur behind Jeanne Beaudry Art and Yoga discusses with passion, humility and sincerity. During our telephone discussion, Jeanne shares with me her view of her entrepreneurial journey and explains her vision for her business project.

Entrepreneurial awakening

“I studied for a long time and had a government job. I was already teaching yoga, but it was the birth of my second child that made me want to go into business. Motherhood is a transformative event in a woman's life. For me, it had that effect. “It was first part-time that the artist went into business, a few months before the start of the pandemic. Jeanne tells me that she had difficulty at that time with her three brains: family, job and project. Despite the financial stress, the entrepreneur has devoted herself full-time to her business since January 2021.

The arts have always been part of his life and those around him were not surprised by his choice to make a living from it. The original works, the journals and the different textiles are inspired by the meditations and the spirit of yoga. Jeanne uses the term “spiritual art” to describe what she creates. In addition to the Signé Local stores , its website and the Etsy platform , its various creations are available in a few points of sale in Gatineau, Ottawa and Montreal. The entrepreneur also offers yoga and meditation workshops such as the one entitled "Discovering my sacred tattoo", face-to-face or virtual.

The challenge of balance

To help her create her business model, which she describes as “fun and malleable”, Jeanne turned to artistic coaching. She therefore worked for a few months with a coach to structure her artistic approach and find her proposal. With her company, she wants to evolve in line with her lifestyle and her values: “I also want to help women live in the present moment”.

But being an entrepreneur, even a slowpreneur , requires making efforts to maintain a balance between personal life and business. For Jeanne, she sees it as a challenge: “I want to have time for myself and my family, to continue my morning routine with my yoga and my meditation… but I don't always succeed! »

Beautiful projects will be unveiled in the coming months for Jeanne Beaudry Art & Yoga. She also shared with me her excitement for her new oracle game project. This is an upcoming collaboration with a friend for which Jeanne will design the illustrations. For the summer season, she also wishes to participate in yoga retreats in order to transmit her teaching. The return to spirituality and the new witchy movement give her "drive", in her words, and motivate her to unite her two passions for the well-being of her community.
