Brelokz: At the heart of the company

“It's an accident, a bit like everything that happens in my life. It was nothing planned,” says Véronique Roy about Brelokz , a jewelry company nestled in the Laurentians.

The particularity of his creations: capturing the essence of nature.

As if Mother Nature wanted Véronique to immortalize her finest achievements!

A trained herbalist, Véronique felt that something was missing. She felt the need to create, to express her artistic fiber through plants, but her job did not allow her to do so. And then, it was while looking for a solution that metal pastes appeared, the base that was to propel the designer into the world of jewelry.

The Brelokz inspiration

Véronique is not just inspired by nature, she grants it an almost eternal power. This is because the entrepreneur shapes the organic materials that surround her by transposing their grain onto the metal pastes. Thus, tree leaves, honeycombs, corals and bark are transformed into beautiful, long-lasting jewels.

“Nature is my home for the rest of my life (laughs). I want to take care of it and honor it”, says the one who left the city almost eight years ago to settle at the edge of the forest.

Behind every creation hides a story

Based on the findings she makes, Véronique lets organic matter do the talking. His spring collection made from corals and which inspired him the full moon demonstrates this well.

“I couldn't see any other way to transform the texture of the coral than by giving it a round shape. And then, it was by giving it this shape that I had the idea of ​​the full moon filled with craters, ”she says in more detail.

Same thing for the creation of her jewelry made from the bark of an oak tree.

“I was looking to release something for Valentine's Day that wasn't a heart and didn't sound cheesy (laughs). I then wondered about the couple, what makes a relationship last, what makes a union solid and then the Oak tree came to my mind since it represents solidity, longevity. It's steady ,” she said.

Brelokz style

Véronique describes it as “timeless and organic, of course”, but it is also faithful to the personality of its creator.

“I am a person who is obvious when people see me and talk to me. You feel a little personality that I have. I am not shy. I have a lot of passion in me. I have a lot of fire and my jewelry is like that. We see the honeycomb, we see the leaf. Nothing is hidden. »
