After going through the company's website and social networks , I ended my research on Artza & Co with a discussion with Roxane Richard, co-founder of this new company launched in April 2021. This pleasant discussion brought to light a young and dynamic team with a well-developed business sense.
The birth of Artza & Co
Roxane completed her college course in business management while starting her entrepreneurial career with her very first business in the printing industry a few years ago. “I was finishing my studies and I was working for myself, it's something I've always had in me, this entrepreneurial spirit. For her part, Laurence, co-founder of Artza, studied administration at McGill and then worked in strategic consulting at IBM. From her childhood, she was immersed in the world of entrepreneurship through her father, Daniel Lefebvre.
It was precisely in the offices of the company Lamcom Technologie , founded by Mr. Lefebvre, that the two young women met. “We were already working together at Lamcom, we were the same age, the same vibe , it was going really well. We are also working to relaunch Blankspace , a personalized art printing company. And during confinement, with teleworking, we started thinking about the importance of being in a setting that we like and that's when we started working on the Artza project. The Montreal company designs, prints and markets high-end, removable and easy-to-install wallpapers .
One of the great strengths of the team behind this young company is the complementarity of expertise. “Laurence takes care, among other things, of the web strategy. I take care of the branding and design of our wallpapers and there is also Ève, who is our sales agent. This way of collaborating is quite natural and allows the startup to carve out a place of choice in the industry.
The challenges of creation
A new collection will be launched in November, still in boho and natural inspiration. “Creating the design is quite difficult. Finding the pattern that will appeal to everyone is a good challenge. The fall collection will go precisely in this direction. We see which products are the most popular and we will offer more in those styles. In fact, arches and circles are the company's flagship products at the moment. In addition to online sales, the products are available at around ten points of sale, including the Signé Local boutiques.
“We're working on projects right now, including an exclusive new pattern with influencer Laurence Jones. In addition, the Mia model is designed for children's bedrooms and, for each order, $5 will be donated to the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation. This business model works well for entrepreneurs who want to work with designers, owners of decoration boutiques and retail chains wishing to create a private label of eco-responsible wallpapers.
