Cassis Monna & daughters
With blackcurrant as a starting point, the Monna family offers tasty, creative and inspiring products and experiences to customers who love authenticity! Cassis Monna & Filles has been combining passion and innovation since 1992. It is on the Île d'Orléans that it grows blackcurrants and produces high-quality products from this small fruit, including a crème de cassis which has obtained several medals in very prestigious international competitions. The house also produces three wines as well as a fine range of blackcurrant-based products. A native of the south of France and fourth generation liquor maker, Bernard Monna is the leading producer of wines and crème de cassis in Quebec. Towards the beginning of the 1970s, he settled on Île d'Orléans where he took root. The location benefits from an ideal microclimate for growing blackcurrants. Heir to a long family tradition, Bernard Monna passes on his know-how to his two daughters, Catherine and Anne, who are now taking over. They are recipients of the Artisan of the Year award at the first edition of the Lauriers de la gastronomy québécoise.
