2020

Positive feedback over the past year

Un retour positif sur la dernière année

The year 2020 has not been easy! With the pandemic and all the negativism, it can feel like this was the worst year of our lives. So much so that it is easy to forget the beautiful things that have happened! Admittedly, it was a different and even exhausting year, but during the last 52 weeks, it is impossible not to have experienced moments filled with happiness, however small.

Take a last look at 2020

If you only see black when you think back to 2020, you might want to take stock of the year, focusing only on the positive . Usually, in a traditional assessment, we do a total introspection by including the less good moves and what we would like to improve. However, having “survived 2020”, I believe it is important to say goodbye to this year on a positive note.

Make yourself comfortable in a quiet place or listening to the music you like. Reflect on the past few months, recap in your head. Grab a piece of paper and a pencil and write down all the pleasant things you have experienced during the year, your accomplishments, the goals you proudly achieved, the happy memories. For my part, instead of a sheet, I rather use a nice notebook in which I write my assessments, my objectives and my lists. In this way, it allows me to keep my balance sheet and to reread it in the following years.

Perhaps you will have exceptional events to write about, such as a birth, a marriage, a new job, the acquisition of a house. If none of that happened, don't worry; think smaller : that picnic in the park this summer, the beautiful sweater you finally bought, a delicious dinner at the restaurant… The important thing is to have been well and happy at that time!

Welcome 2021 with open arms!

2020 and 2021 may look the same; the pandemic is not behind us yet, but our lives go on. To start the year off right, think of a list of realistic and possible pandemic goals that would make you happy. Again, take a sheet or notebook and write down the things you would like to do, accomplish or change in 2021. Throughout the year, you can check off what has been achieved.

The important thing is to establish as many achievable goals as possible and to plan our year in order to be happy and not be too disappointed next December for not having been able to make half of your list. But, I still suggest to note some more or less difficult to achieve with confinement, in case the situation returns a little more "normal" one day. Don't forget that we still had a beautiful, less restrictive summer, between two waves of COVID-19!

I wish you a very happy new year filled with positivism and beautiful moments!
