Harrington Sparkling Botanicals: an off-the-beaten-track water

Harrington Pétillants Botaniques : une eau qui sort des sentiers battus

Harrington Pétillants Botaniques is the project of a close-knit family. Mario, Nathalie and their two children, Catherine and Jimmy, wanted to combine the vision of two generations to create a unique product: sparkling water with a Quebec flavor. Discover the story behind this extraordinary new natural and Quebec beverage.

Nathalie has always been an entrepreneur in many areas. In a relationship with Mario for 33 years, they complement each other wonderfully since he is the man in the field and she has the ideas. The couple owned three construction company franchises for 17 years. After all these years, Nathalie felt that she had reached the limit of what she could accomplish with franchises. She realized that she needed a new project as she is a challenge person who does not seek greed, but rather to accomplish something that is close to her heart.

Only two ingredients

Following this realization, she went on a journey to find herself and find out what she wanted. Nathalie discovered that she preferred the “slowliving” way of life. She and Mario found 410 acres of farmland in Harrington to make time for. The couple realized that Quebec is a forest pantry that abounds in resources and that water in Quebec is a scarce resource. That's how Harrington Sparkling Botanical waters were born. The family worked for 2 and a half years to develop a product that has only two ingredients: the water from the Bell Falls spring in Harrington, as well as the natural extracts that give the flavor. It was important for them not to add salt and sugar.

The mission that the family has given itself is to make known the jewels of Quebec in a health product that is intended for the whole family. With Harrington Sparkling Botanical beverages, Nathalie also wanted to demystify the flavors of Quebec. For the moment, three flavors are available from plants that are found on their soil: wintergreen, sweet spruce and juniper berry. At the moment these are not their own extracts, but they are working to grow their plants in larger quantities. Wintergreen water is a big hit with kids, since it's a sweeter flavor. Interestingly, the bubbles that end up in the drinks are very fine, which is gentler on the palate.

To drink alone or in a cocktail

These sparkling waters can be enjoyed on their own or served in cocktails and mocktails. Nathalie had difficulty selecting a favorite recipe since each combination has something to please everyone. She does, however, have a fondness for the apple butter recipe , a super simple recipe that the kids love, and the Amer Spook-tacular cocktail. This proves that Harrington Sparkling Botanicals are versatile waters that mix well with other Quebec products. All the recipes can be found on their website.

Having studied herbalism, aromatherapy and horticulture, this project is the culmination of a lifetime for Nathalie, allowing her to bring together all her passions. She would also advise someone who wants to get into entrepreneurship to go for it and not listen too much to people who will only have negative comments, because they are afraid of going into the void. She adds that you have to know how to surround yourself and stop thinking that you are going to do everything, alone. Nathalie is a tenacious, go-getter and passionate woman who does everything to make her projects work. By buying the land, Nathalie and her family would like it to eventually be a place open year-round with hiking trails and self-picking wintergreen.

Stay tuned as Harrington Sparkling Botanicals should have a new flavor and 750ml sizes by the end of the year. We even heard that flat water, without bubbles, but not flat at all, may be planned for the future. Taste their products right here!
