5 essentials made in Quebec for back to school

Rentrée 2017

Back to school is upon us, let it be known! Summer has gone by at high speed and it's already time to make our purchases for the return to school or daycare, the return to work for many, the return to a more structured routine, what! Your list grows – and so does your headache – as the days get shorter. So I took the time to find you some essentials for young and old to make your back-to-school shopping easier.

Psst! All products are on sale on the Signé Local online store. You don't even have to leave the house to get them. Awesome, right?

Informed choices

I slip here a little word on consumption. In this matter, I try to make responsible choices most of the time. Buying on a whim is less and less part of my habits. My motto? Consume less, but consume better. I favor sustainable, eco-responsible and quality products. I am blessed because Quebec is full of companies that meet these criteria.

Our 5 essentials for a successful back-to-school

1. Pressure

Back to school also means we're starting to make lunches again! When it comes to accessories for transporting lunches, the Pressure company passes the quality and durability test with flying colours. The lunch bag is designed in such a way that you can put a water bottle or mason jar in it while the lunch box is perfect for holding several dishes. In addition, the patterns are exclusive.

2. The eco factory.

Plastic dishes are very useful, but take up (too) much space in the lunch box. That's why I swapped some of my famous Tupperware for the reusable Ziploc-style bags from the fabrik eco. Machine washable, they are available in different styles and sizes. Perfect for slipping in raw vegetables, a handful of nuts or pieces of fruit, they are easy to transport while being discreet. Let's get rid of plastic bags!

3. Bristle

Back to school requires, the agenda fills up quickly. This agenda will allow you to manage your time and your obligations well, to ultimately respect your rhythm and prioritize yourself! The company Soies creates journals and tools that will allow you to manage your schedule well, while placing your well-being at the center of the equation. Besides the agenda, the company offers a sweet diary, a monthly calendar, a to-do list and a menu planner. You won't be able to do without it!

4. Beaver and Company

Who wouldn't want a tool to make organizing their daily life easier? Castor et compagnie offers series of picture tiles to help children develop their autonomy. Whether it's to accompany the little ones through the daily routine or to motivate the older ones to participate in household chores, these tables are perfect for taming the chaos of back-to-school. My favorite!

5. Baby Fafa

Some go back to school while others start daycare. To save educators from having to change our little ones' clothes a hundred times a day, we slip a few of these overly cute bandana bibs into the little one's accessory bag. Made by Bébé Fafa, these are offered in original patterns. They can be purchased for $14.95 each at the Signé Local store.

Don't forget, even if the start of the new school year can become a source of stress for many, three rules are essential: breathe, play down and leave room for spontaneity. Welcome back!
