Celebrate Christmas differently, in confinement

With the pandemic on our doorstep, we must reinvent the magic of Christmas in order to continue to offer traditions and moments of happiness around us. Of course, with compliance with the health standards in place and almost all of Quebec plunged into the red zone, it is even more important to use our power to adapt and review our ways of doing things. For my part, with the kids of young children aged 3-4, teenagers and young adults, I have to review how to celebrate in renewal mode! Cocooning will undoubtedly be omnipresent, accompanied by surprises from elves, outdoor outings and happiness!

We put on the slack to snuggle up on the sofa (by the way, the workout leggings from MoovActivewear are PERFECT!), we binge a series on one of the available media, we watch a Christmas classic ( Tsé, Le sapin a des boules or Maman, I missed the plane) with the children or we infiltrate between the pages of our Quebec novels of the day (even here, we think local purchase)! We can also light a candle from Meg candles ( like A day at the spa ), add Luxart bath salts to our water (the Ylang ylang and sweet orange fragrance smells so good!) and take it easy! quiet for a few minutes while listening to calming music or a short meditation!

Family outings

The secret to successful outings is to be well informed, to communicate with the companies concerned and to validate their opening status and the services available. Our beautiful province shines with activities and, even during a period of confinement, some are accessible by respecting the measures in place. Outdoor outings are really to be preferred: the great outdoors, oxygenate our body and move!

Several possibilities are available to you: go snowshoeing, walk, try out the fatbike and enjoy the playgrounds for children! There are also places to practice our extreme sliding sports, such as Trois-Rivières in Le Backyard d' Adrénaline urbaine where, starting in January, you can enjoy the slopes on a snowboard or on skis! Snowmobile enthusiasts, as soon as the snow sets in, will be able to discover the province in a beautiful way while taking advantage of the restaurant owners who offer an adapted service. Discovering paraskiing and kiteboarding can also be a great way to practice your winter sport differently!

Zoom to the sound of the rigodon and return to the old ways

In 2020, we are still fortunate to have the internet and all the systems to keep in touch with our loved ones! It's easy to connect to Zoom, Chat and Meet , just to see each other 's face! 40 years ago, the isolation would have been even greater! I propose, in addition to social media and the speed of execution of these, to tend towards an art in the process of instinct: handwriting! Yes, the art of holding a feather between your fingers, of dipping into our inkwell by candlelight and sending it all off by a courier des bois! Well, a little serious, I'm talking about writing Christmas letters, sending wishes for the next year by post, giving signs of life differently and in a more personalized way! What a beautiful moment to open your mailbox and discover a decorated envelope, written by hand and why not, with a sweet or spicy scent!

Christmas magic and local purchase

It is enough to break our routines, to stir our vision of gatherings, to live in the present moment and to discover what our beautiful part of the country has to offer us. This exceptional period allows many to review local purchasing and its importance, to invest our money in the local economy in order to maintain our local services. On the other hand, it allows entrepreneurs to innovate more to meet the demands of their customers, to discover new products and above all, to stick together to protect everyone's future!

Christmas is a time when we want to be surrounded by the people we love and we must remember that it is also a time to find ourselves, to evaluate the year covered, to take stock of where we've been and where we'd like to go, to take the time and recharge our batteries! All the same, we are offered, in a different and less appreciated way (I must admit!), an opportunity to be seized. You have to know how to accept and enjoy! Everything changes!
