On the test bench: Boat boat, for eco-responsible hygiene

Au banc d’essai : Bateau bateau, pour une hygiène écoresponsable

This series of articles is written in collaboration with UQTR students participating in the Export Trade Mission to Europe .

Bateau Bateau is a young company that was born in 2018. It offers sets of reusable tissues and toilet paper, all made entirely in Quebec.

We will not hide it, these are not common products. In this sense, the company's mission is to help people move towards reusability by offering a complete and functional support system. The founder, Marie-Ève Lupien, aims to educate the consumer on this line of products and to facilitate the transition to hygienic products tissues and toilet paper that are reusable and eco-responsible.

Our real opinion on the products

Following an explanatory meeting with Marie-Ève, we had the chance to test the company's products. Against all odds, we adopted and loved it! The transition was very smooth and pleasant.

Reusable tissues

The first step for us was to adopt reusable tissues. It's simple, the design is so attractive that it makes you want to try it! The various patterns and colors offered are simply adorable! Then, what about the product itself? The tissues are so soft that you won't want to go back to disposable tissues afterwards. The research of the materials used is clearly felt in the product. The system is simple and clean. Nobody will realize that you are using handkerchiefs… Nothing to do with the old handkerchief that our grandfather had on him! All materials are carefully chosen with attention to detail.

reusable toilet paper

The company also offers a reusable, ingenious, odorless and hygienic toilet paper system. It is easy to use and the installation is not complicated. Once again, all the little details are considered to offer the best product in terms of texture, accommodation and visuals. It's cheesy, but believe us, to try it is to adopt it! Check out the company's website and the question products to put an end to the prejudices you have about zero waste!

Who are we and what is our project?

We are a team of four graduating students with a bachelor's degree in business administration (BAA), marketing profile at UQTR. To conclude our school career, we take part in an end-of-study internship called Export Trade Mission .

What is a trade mission? This is a process that we are undertaking in order to export products to a new country. We study the markets, the competition, the opportunities as well as the threats. Throughout our internship, we will come into contact with stakeholders likely to support the export process.

Our approach begins with analytical work, in collaboration with local businesses. The approach will continue with a trip to Paris and Brussels to meet the contacts and thus validate our research. The internship will end with a presentation of our results to the partner companies as well as to our professors.

Throughout our journey, we will share with you some publications that will allow you to follow our evolution, but also to know the companies for which we carry out the commercial mission.
